Funding Allohak Council
The Allohak Council utilizes fund accounting to manage the funds used to deliver the Scouting program to youth and families. There are three funds, operating, capital and endowment.
The operating fund is used to track the income and expenses related to the day to day operations of the council.
The capital fund is used to account for income and expenses related to capital projects of the council. Capital projects are those items with a minimum cost of $1,000 and an expected life of twelve months or more. Examples of capital items are the Scout Service Center, Camps Kootaga and Mahonegon, furniture, fixtures, equipment, vehicles, etc.
The endowment fund is the future of the Allohak Council. Through this fund, donors may make restricted gifts to the council whereby the principal amount of the gift is not used but rather the interested from the gift.
